San Massimo is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Campobasso in the Italian region Molise, located about 25 kilometres (16 mi) southwest of Campobasso. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 736 and an area of 27.6 square kilometres (10.7 sq mi).[1]
Geography
The municipality of San Massimo contains the frazione (subdivision) Campitello Matese. Campitello Matese is a ski resort located at 1,450 metres (4,760 ft) above sea level with 40 kilometres (25 mi) of pistes.
San Massimo borders the following municipalities: Bojano, Cantalupo nel Sannio, Macchiagodena, Roccamandolfi, San Gregorio Matese.
