Sanjay Govil is an Indian-American business executive. He is currently chairman of the board for Infinite Computer Solutions,[2] an IT service company he founded in 1999.[3][4] He is a previous winner of the Entrepreneur of the Year Award given by Ernst & Young[5] and a fellow at the Wharton School of Business. In addition to his work at Infinite, Govil is active in training young entrepreneurs.[6][7]
Career
Govil attended Auburn University where he earned a Bachelor of Engineering.[8] After graduating from Auburn, Govil began working for IBM. During his time at IBM, he earned a Master of Engineering from Syracuse University.[8] He worked for various companies including Verizon Communications (Bell Atlantic at the time) prior to starting his own venture.[5]
In 1999, Govil founded Infinite Computer Solutions.[3] He used $1,000 of his own money and did not take any venture capital funding for the company.[3] He managed the company through its initial public offering on the Bombay Stock Exchange where it raised $1.8 billion on its first day of trading instead of its expected $50 million.[9][10] He helped grow it to $200 million in yearly revenue as of 2011. Govil is still actively involved with the company, serving as its chairman of the board of directors.[2]
Govil is the winner of the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award, given to him in 2002.[5] He is also involved with the Wharton School of Business where he became a fellow.[8] He also serves as a member of the Global CEO Advisory Council for its fellows program and the board of directors for the school's Future of Advertising Project.[8][11][12]
Early Life
Govil attended Auburn University where he earned a Bachelor of Engineering.[8] After graduating from Auburn, Govil began working for IBM. Interests
Sanjay Govil is the owner of Delhi Acers (part of Premier Badminton League) [16] The team was the winner of the 2016 Premier Badminton League championship held in January 2016.[17]]
He is actively involved in TiE DC’s TiE Young Entrepreneurs (TYE) boot camp and business plan competition since its inception four years ago. TYE is aimed at fostering the next generation of entrepreneurs, by teaching entrepreneurship to high school students and helping them to discover the rewards and challenges of becoming an entrepreneur.[18]]

Sanjay Govil's Charity Foundation is based on the premise that cultivating ideas of entrepreneurship, education and citizenship improve lives in communities where we thrive.
