Scott Miller (born September 27, 1981) is an Australian association football coach, who currently is head coach of A-League club Newcastle Jets.[2]
Playing career
Writing in the Australian Times in 2013, Miller spoke of his playing career, "Having played professional football in Australia, I wanted to work at the highest level in football, which for me has always been the Premier League." .[3]
Coaching career
In 2006, Miller moved to England to further his coaching ambitions. He joined Fulham F.C. as a fitness coach. He was later appointed assistant technical coach.[3][4]
When Ange Postecoglou was appointed head coach of Australia in late 2013, he took on a short-term role as a fitness coach.[5]
In June 2015, Miller was released by Fulham, having served as coach with the U21 team working under the U21 Manager Peter Grant.[6][7]
Soon after leaving Fulham, he was linked to the Newcastle Jets head coach role.[1] It was confirmed that he had penned a two-year deal with the club on 18 June.[8] The appointment of Miller makes him the youngest head manager in the decade-long history of the A-League at just 33 years of age.[9]
Miller possess a UEFA A-Licence, and also holds university degrees in sports science and psychology.[1]
