Scratch Ankle is an unincorporated community in Monroe County, Alabama, United States, located 12 miles (19 km) northwest of Monroeville.
History
Scrach Ankle was named from the fact locals were often seen by the train workers scratching their ankles from mosquito bites.[2] It has been frequently noted on lists of unusual place names.[3][4]
