The Seattle Warbirds are a women's professional American football team based in Seattle, Washington. They were founded by Head Coach Michael Stuart and General Manager Joshua Creel in 2001. A member of the Women's Football Alliance, the Warbirds are set to begin play for its second season in 2011.
The Warbirds played in the Women's American Football League for the 2001 season, finishing 9-0-1 and winning the Pacific Northwest Division title before losing to the Arizona Caliente in the Pacific Conference semifinals. Ten years later, the Warbirds are returning to play in the WFA.
The Warbirds are gearing up for the 2011 season through fundraisers and tryouts in Sept. They are gaining momentum from fans and new players through use of social networks and word of mouth. www.seattlewarbirds.org
