Shah Mureed (born 21 February 1989) is a Pakistani cricketer who played two Twenty20 matches for the Quetta Bears during the 2012–13 season.
Shah was born in Nushki, Baluchistan, and played under-19 inter-district matches for Nushki, later progressing to play for Quetta in under-19 inter-region matches.[1] He subsequently progressed to Nushki's senior side, with his highest score for the team coming in June 2012, an innings of 162 runs made as an opening batsman.[2] Based largely on that innings, Shah was selected to play for the Quetta Bears in the 2012–13 season of the Faysal Bank T20 Cup.[3] On debut against the Multan Tigers in December 2012, he scored a duck while opening the batting with Mohibullah, but in his second and final game, played four days later against the Lahore Lions, he scored nine runs not out, batting ninth.[4][5]
As of January 2015, ESPNcricinfo, a cricket website, incorrectly gives Shah's date of birth as 21 February 1999,[6] and lists him as the youngest player to have played at Twenty20 level (in front of Rana Kalangutkar, whose birthdate is also given incorrectly). This record is in fact held by Pakistani cricketer Nasir Jamshed, who made his Twenty20 debut for the Lahore Lions in April 2005, at the age of 15 years and 140 days.[7]
