Shahid Afridi Foundation (SAF) is a non-profit organization founded in March 2014 by Pakistan International cricketer Shahid Afridi. The organization aims to provide healthcare, education and sports facilities in Pakistan and around the world.[1][2] Shahid Afridi Foundation and Shahid Afridi in particular is also ambassador of Polio campaigns in Pakistan. The foundation has initiated many projects including hospital in Kohat, water wells and hand pumps project in Sindh and KPK, supporting schools, scholarships for students, raising funds for other hospitals and many other projects. Charity is not new to Shahid Afridi as in the past he has been supporting and endorsing many global charity organisations in the UK, USA, UAE and Pakistan.
History and work
Shahid Afridi Foundation was founded by Pakistani cricketer Shahid Afridi in March 2014 The organization provides health and education facilities in Pakistan. The foundation has built a hospital "Sahibzada Fazal Rehman Memorial and Charity Hospital" in a village Tangi Banda in Kohat which offers free treatment.[3] It also solved water crisis in the villages of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and has also granted scholarships for 12 deserving students and built a basketball court in a school in Karachi.[4] On October 26, 2015 Shahid Afridi visited victims of 2015 Hindu Kush earthquake in Lady Reading Hospital in Peshawar and announced donation of ₨.5 million.[5][6][7]
