Despite the fact that it is the closest station to the Moku Moku farm in Iga it is not a walkable distance and a taxi is needed. However, Shindō Station does not always have taxis and so the official directions recommend catching a taxi at either Tsuge (柘植) Station (a 15-minute taxi ride) or Iga-Ueno (伊賀上野) Station (a 25-minute taxi ride).

History
Shindō Station was opened on July 15, 1921 as a station on the Japanese Government Railway (JGR), which became the JNR (Japan National Railways) after World War II. Freight operations were discontinued from August 1, 1970. With the privatization of the JNR on April 1, 1987, the station came under the control of JR West. In July 2002, the station was extensively remodeled, with the original side platform and island platform replaced by a single island platform and with the station building rebuilt.
