Shri Vaishnav Institute of Technology and Science, also known as SVITS, is a central Indian engineering and management institute. Considered one of the private engineering institution in central India, SVITS has become a pioneer in the field of research and development. The college has students from MP as well as most other states of India. Main programmes offered are Engineering and Management.[1] In recent years, the institute has gained recognition for delivering some of the highest placements among all engineering colleges in MP.
History
Shri Vaishnav Institute of Technology and Science is approved by AICTE and Govt. of Madhya Pradesh and is affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi Proudyogiki Vishwavidyalaya (RGPV), Bhopal for engineering courses and to Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya (DAVV), Indore for MBA. SVITS is known for imparting quality education to the students and thus shaping their future. SVITS is an ISO 9001:2008 certified institute (Yr. 2002) and NBA accredited (departments CS, EC & TX) in the Yr. 2006 are the jewels of the SVITS crown.

Since 1995, new courses have been continuously added. The institute is equipped with the following Cricket field with Net practice, Football Field, Sports complex for Indoor games of 10000 sq.ft with, Table Tennis Tables, Hobby Center, Badminton Court, Multipurpose room with chess Caroms etc. College has well built separate blocks to house each department. There are classrooms, staff rooms and other amenities. Now the construction of three separate new blocks for Mechanical, Civil & Textile Engineering is going on along with the expansion of Electrical Engineering block.
Auditorium
An auditorium with an area of about 400 square meter and seating capacity of 230 is situated adjacent to the library. It has facilities for conducting seminars and symposia.
Laboratories
All the major seven departments have their own labs which are well equipped and fully functional. For general science department, following labs are designed as per the requirements of the curriculum:

Hostel and Canteen
In order to support out-station students, Shri Vaishnav Shekshanik and Parmarthik Trust has built separate hostels for boys and girls in the central part of Indore. Admissions in these hostels are on first-come, first-served basis. In addition to the above, there is a private boys' hostel located opposite to the institute. The institute has a canteen.
Transport
The Institute has transport facility. Almost each and every route of Indore is covered by college buses. Buses are also available for the neighbouring cities of Dewas and Ujjain.
SAE-SVITS (Vaishnav Krieger's)
The SAE-SVITS collegiate club was opened up in 2011 under aegis of Deptt. of Mechanical Engineering and SAEINDIA. SAEINDIA is India's leading resource for mobility technology. As an individual member driven society of mobility practitioners the ownership of SAEINDIA wrests with its members who are Individuals from the mobility community, which includes Engineers Executives from Industry, Government Officials, Academics and Students. It is best known by its MOTORSPORT endeavor combined with the technical enthusiasts of the college.The club and the team had made college rank in one of the top most colleges of INDIA right striking from its first batch of mechanical engineering. Club has the antiquity of offering placements and hands on training and making industry ready students by offering them practical challenges such as BAJA SAE, SUPRA SAE, EFFICYCLE and many more both nationally and internationally which no other club in SVITS has to offer.Vaishnav Kriegers.
- Vaishnav Kriegers qualified for the first time for BAJA SAEINDIA even its first batch of mechanical engineering yet to passout securing AIR 32 under the leadership of its captain Ashish Kumar Ghatode.
- In 2013 itself two more landmarks were achieved when the All girls team of the college made their own Hybrid tricycle for the Efficycle event under the Leadership of Ms. Surbhi Jain.
- The second landmark was achieved when Vaishnav Kriegers again qualified for with its yet another masterpiece RHINO for BAJA SAEINDIA 2014 under the captainship of Mr. Pratik Mahajan.
- STUDENTS again made a milestone qualifying for the first ever Formula 1 vehicle to be built ingenuously for SUPRA SAEINDIA under the leadership of Mr. Anand Prakash singh.

NSS
The National Service Scheme (NSS) was launched in 1969 to provide opportunity to youth in the universities and colleges to serve the society they are living in. It aims the activities of social service and nation building which would also put forward opportunities to the students to understand and realize the problems of the communities, awaken social consciousness and to establish a constructive linkage between the campus and the community. NSS unit of SVITS is continuously putting its sincere efforts to develop sensitive, responsible and self-motivated future citizens. Consequent upon this, following activities were put into operation to associate futures technocrats with social and human issues.
- In the NSS day Celebration on 24 September 08, slides show on the intro and motto of NSS depicted along with the brief review of activities organized in the recent past and proposed for forthcoming session.
- A Plantation Campaign was organized on 15th Oct ’08 in the campus in association with “Art of Living foundation”. Campaign has grand success not just due to more than 1000 students participated or more than 400 tree plants were implanted but the reason is most of the plants are well taken care of and survived till date.
- A team of TISR (Tata Institute of Social Research), Mumbai visited the campus on 21st Oct ’08 and a survey is conducted for ministry of HRD with the help of NSS volunteers regarding the issues to be taken up by the nss.
- On 1st Dec ‘08 “Aids day” awareness regarding the prevention of Aids was spread through posters displayed in campus.
- NSS svits organized an audio-video show “Safety on Roads” on 08th Dec’08 in association with the students of MGM Medical College, Indore.
- Development of Website of NNS SVITS is under process, which will make Blood donor’s directory accessible on line.
Admission
Admission to SVITS is through PET conducted by VYAPAM, Bhopal and counseling by Rajiv Gandhi Technical University(RGTU), Bhopal. In previous years, most of the seats were filled up in the first session of counseling. 10% seats in each branch have also been sanctioned for Diploma holders for admission directly in second year and 15% seats for NRI Quota.
