Silver Lake, Otsego County, New York

Otsego County's Silver Lake is located south of New Berlin in the town of Pittsfield, situated on the eastern bank of the Unadilla River. The hamlet is named for a small lake of the same name along the eastern edge of the hamlet.

Silver Lake is 30 acres (120,000 m2) of water, with surrounding wetlands, privately owned by a young family in New Jersey. Surrounding the lake is a former race track from the 1920s. The lake has most warm-water fish, blue gill, bass with abundance of birds, turtles, frogs, etc. It has deeded access to several lots along 1/3 edge of the lake along with a small neighborhood beach area and its residents work together to keep the lake and area pristine and friendly.
