Sintiru (Quechua for peccary,[3] Hispanicized spelling Sentilo) is a 5,100-metre-high (16,700 ft) mountain in the Cordillera Blanca in the Andes of Peru. It is located in the Ancash Region, Huaylas Province, Santa Cruz District. Sintiru lies at the Punta Unión pass, the highest point of the Santa Cruz valley, south of the mountains Rinrihirka and Pukahirka, southwest of Tawllirahu,[4] and northeast of the mountains Artisunrahu and Parya.[5]
The little river Yuraqmayu which flows through the Santa Cruz gorge and leads to the Santa River originates near the Sintiru.
