Sipayi (Kannada: ಸಿಪಾಯಿ) is a Kannada film released in 1996, directed and produced by V. Ravichandran. This film starred Ravichandran, Soundarya and Telugu actor Chiranjeevi in an extended cameo appearance. Music and lyrics were composed by Hamsalekha.[1]
Ravichandran was a huge star in Kannada and persuaded megastar chiranjeevi to be a part of the movie. It is been said that he did not take any remuneration for this movie. The friendship song in this movie, "Snehakke Sneha Preethige Preethi", "Yarige Beku eLoka", and "Bangarada Bombe" were chartbusters during first release and are still popular with Kannada cinemagoers.
The movie was later dubbed in Telugu as Major Eeswar.
