Skodje Church (Norwegian: Skodje kyrkje) is a parish church in Skodje Municipality in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway. It is located in the village of Skodje. The church is part of the Skodje parish in the Austre Sunnmøre deanery in the Diocese of Møre. The white, wooden church was built in 1860 by the architect F. Meinhardt. The church seats about 350 people.[1][2]

History

The first recorded church in Skodje was built around 1424. That church probably existed until 1750 when it was in such poor condition that it was torn down and a new church built. The new church was made of wood and it lasted until 1860 when it too was torn down, and a new, larger church was built. The 1860 church is still in use today.[3]
