Songadh is a town in Bhavnagar District of Saurashtra in Gujarat, India. It is 5km from Sihor town and 25km from Bhavnagar town.
Importance
It is mainly known for being the official headquarter of Kanji Swami Digambar Jains. Kanji Swami, a mystical teacher of Jainism, spent about forty years at Songadh.
Overview
Its main temple complex contains the following temples:
- Param Agam Mandir, literally meaning Temple of Sacred Texts. Walls of this temple are carved with the Digambar Jain sacred texts of Samayasāra.
- Jin Mandir.
- Swadyay Mandir, literally meaning Temple of Study.
- Nandishwar Deep Mandir.
- Man Stambhaji
- Jinendra Dharmasabha - Simandhar God's Religious Court
- Samadhi Mandir in memory of Kanji Swami
