Sri Aurobindo's Rourkela School (A Unit of Sri Aurobindo Yoga Mandir) is a school located in Sector-5 , Rourkela - 769002, Odisha, India. The school educates up to class XII.The school namely “Sri Aurobindo’s Rourkela School, Rourkela” is an Institution established in the year 1973, According to The Mother's Handwritten name : Sri Aurobindo's Rourkela School which has completed its successful existence of 41 years. Whereas Sri Aurobindo Yoga Mandir started as a Study Circle in a separate room in Ispat Library Premises on date 15.08.1961 with the blessing of The Mother. Since the organization was growing from strength to strength in the year 1969.
The Study Circle became a registered spiritual organization and named as Sri Aurobindo Yoga Mandir. It had an executive committee of 11 members to manage the affairs and to develop the organization further with a view to spread the message as teachings of Sri Aurobindo and The Mother the Relics of Sri Aurobindo was installed on date 13th April 1988 in the premises of Yoga Mandir.

Sri Aurobindo's Message : One has the power of exceeding oneself. The Mother's Message : It is the Divine Presence that gives value to life. This Presence is the source of all peace, all joy, all security. Find this presence in your self and all your difficulties will disappear.

School’s Methodology
Ever since the organization was registered, the members were eagerly trying for starting an integral school to impart education in line of the teachings of The Mother and Sri Aurobindo in order to develop the vital, mental, physical, psychic and spiritual aspects of a child. A prayer was accordingly placed before The Mother, in 1972. The Mother was extremely kind to give permission for the school and named the school as Sri Aurobindo’s Rourkela School.
The school got affiliated to Council for ICSE, New Delhi in the year 1988 and 1st batch appeared 10th Std. in 1989. So, far now 25th batches of students have appeared in final ICSE Exam and nearly 100% result is obtained every year. Number of 1st class are more than the 2nd class. The present strength of the school is nearly 576. +2 stream was started from 2009 and still continuing. The school provides all the facilities like Library, Laboratory, Games, Competition, Yoga, Karate and other co-curricular activities. The school always begged 1st position till date in the ceremonial parade which is organized by SAIL, RSP in Ispat Stadium, sector – 6.
During this period the school has developed a lot with respect to infrastructure, Library, Laboratory, water room with aqua guard and Electricity facilities and proper sanitation. We have fire extinguishers system. The school is properly maintained keeping in views the system and guidelines framed by the Government. The school has sufficient Teaching Aids. There are 34 qualified and trained teachers and 08 supporting staffs. They are paid as per the norms and covering their securities in terms of EPF, ESI. As regular sports activities are done as it is an Integral Education School. The gardener looks after the school gardens..[1]
