School building
There are two parts to the school building. The first part near Simonston Boulevard, has two stories to it. Within the main building, there are art rooms, music rooms, library, and other classrooms. The outer portable classrooms contains Grade 6s classrooms, and drama classes.
The school, like other school in York Region, is divided in four divisions, the kindergarten division (Junior Kindergarten and Senior Kindergarten); primary division (Grades 1-3); junior division (Grades 4-6); and intermediate division (Grades 7-8). The school is especially renowned for its art room.
Rotations
Saint Michael Catholic Academy offers special rotary system. Unlike other schools in York Region, the school has a 6-day rotation system. This was to help the students to be well prepared for high schools. In rotaries, students are required to take courses like visual arts, music, and drama.
Very strong support is provided to the many students learning English as a Second Language.
Renovations

Feeder schools
Most Grade 8s will go to St. Robert Catholic High School located at 8101 Leslie Street.
