Stara Kraśnica [ˈstara kraɕˈnit͡sa] (German: Altschönau) is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Świerzawa, within Złotoryja County, Lower Silesian Voivodeship, in south-western Poland.[1] Prior to 1945 it was in Germany. After World War II the region was placed under Polish administration and ethnically cleansed according to the post-war Potsdam Agreement. The native German populace was expelled and replaced with Poles.

It lies approximately 3 kilometres (2 mi) south-east of Świerzawa, 15 kilometres (9 mi) south of Złotoryja, and 80 kilometres (50 mi) west of the regional capital Wrocław.
