Steigenberger Hotels is a German luxury hotel company founded by Albert Steigenberger in 1930. As of 2007, Steigenberger owned 82 hotels worldwide, with a total of 14,283 rooms. Many of its hotels are located in Germany, however Steigenberger currently has four hotels in Austria, three in Switzerland and in Egypt and one each in Italy, Belgium and The Netherlands (Kurhaus of Scheveningen).[1]
In mid-2009, the Egyptian travel and tourism company Travco Group acquired Steigenberger Hotels.[2]
