Summit is an unincorporated community in LaPorte County, Indiana, in the United States.[1]
Summit was named for its lofty elevation.[2]
The community lies about 4 miles (6.4 km) northwest of LaPorte and about 8 miles (13 km) southeast of Michigan City. Summit is at the intersection of West Johnson Road and county highways W 250 N and N 500 W. It is about 1 mile (1.6 km) northwest of the Indiana Toll Road (Interstate 90).
