'''Sun Rise English School''' is a private school in Bharatpur, Chitwan. It is one of the premier private schools of Nepal.[1]
History
Sun Rise English School was established in 1987 by Mr. Dinanath Duwadi, in his own home in Bharatpur-06, Krishnapur, Chitwan, NEPAL. Classes ran from Nursery to 5th grade. There were 33 students enrolled and 5 staff and teachers working in the school. After running the school for 3 years in Dinanath Duwadi's home, the board of directors moved it to Dipendranagar. The school was moved behind Birendra Multiple Campus, Dipendranagar in the fall of 1992. After running the school for two more years, the school's Board of Directors declared liquidity. In the summer of 1994, the school was closed with 142 students enrolled and studying.
Within a week, the school was purchased by a group of young educators. The new group registered the school as Sun Rise English School, removing the 'Boarding' word from its previous name. Mr. Bal Bahadur Acharya was selected as the acting principal of the school. The new management brought all the teachers and staff, and all the physical assets including the school building from the previous management and started the classes at the same place behind Birendra Multiple Campus in Dipendranagar.
The school is considered an elite school outside Kathmandu valley. With excellent results in the SLC examinations, the school has established itself as a strong competitor in the Nepalese education system.
Administration
The new management took over in 1994. The school used to be administered completely by the Board of Directors selected by the Trustees of school till 2006. With a demand for a parent representative on the school's Board of Directors, the previous system was finally removed. Directors will be composed like this:
- From Share Holders-1 representative
- From Parents-2 representatives(1 Male/ 1 Female)
- From Teachers-1 representative
- From Local Educationalists-1 representative
- From Government of Nepal, School Invigilators-1 representative
- Principal
Course of study
The school operates two courses of study:
- School Leaving Certificate level (a nationwide curriculum up to class 10 prescribed by the Department of Education, Ministry of Education and Sports, Government of Nepal
