Surabhi Dashputra is an Indian singer and lyricist[1] working in Bollywood, known for her chartbuster songs " O Soniye " , " O Ranjhna " & " Atyachaari " sung by singers like Arijit Singh & Neeti Mohan and herself for the film Titoo MBA.[2][3] After writing jingles for the advertising industry, she started her bollywood career in 2012 with, Priyanshu Chatterjee starer Calapor[4] for which she wrote three, and lend her voice for two songs.
Early life
She got an early exposure to Indian classical music from her mother and continued learning under gurus like " Anand Joshi & Chandrashekher Sengupta" in jabalpur, later in 2004 she shifted to Mumbai and joined Suresh Wadkar's AJIVASAN academy to further pursue her studies in Hindustani Music, after finishing her MA in music from University of Mumbai she started writing professionally for the advertising industry and wrote jingles for various brands such as Ayur, UMPL, Lovely Sweets, Marvel Tea, Aditya Ice cream and many more...
Career
While working for the advertising industry, Film music eventually came her way when Music composer Arjuna Harjai approached her for his upcoming Bollywood film Titoo MBA directed by Amit Vats, she wrote three songs for the project and also lend her voice for songs like " O Ranjhna ", " Atyachaari " , and " Plan Bana Le" with co singers Aishwarya Nigam & Arjuna Harjai .[5]
She was also seen as a vocalist on MTV Coke Studio season 3 for various episodes with Music Producer Hitesh Sonik[6] & Vijay Prakash.[7] She has performed live shows, concerts at various cities across India, her style of singing is a fusion of Folk , Sufi, Classical and Western music. [8]
