TV5 (Telugu: టీవీ5) is a 24-hour Telugu language news channel in India.

History

TV5 news channel was inaugurated on 2 October 2007 by Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy. The channel's editorial team consists of Editor Dhinesh.Akula, Business Editor P V Vasanth Kumar, and Executive Editor R Vijaya Narayana. The channel is promoted by Chairman B R Naidu. Day-to-day operations are handled by Managing Director B Ravindra Nath and Vice Chairman B Surendra Nath.

Channel

The channel telecasts 24-hour news bulletins, and 30 special news bulletins, with the support of 294 special reporters in every constituency of the Telugu states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, in addition to strong metro bureaus in Hyderabad, Vizag and Vijayawada.

The channel is well known for its editorial sovereignty and unbiased news coverage. According to the latest TAM reports, it is the undisputed number one Telugu news channel.

The channel's unique selling proposition is its business content. Reputed market analysts C Kutumba Rao, P Balasubramanyam, VVK Prasad, Sundar Raju, B Rajendra and Seshu provide valuable financial analysis to the audience on a day-to-day basis. It is the only Telugu channel producing such highly analytical and accurate business content. It has also won the best business show award from a national television awards committee.
