Taichū Prefecture
Taichū Prefecture (臺中州/台中州 Taichū-shū) was one of the administrative divisions of Taiwan during the Japanese rule. The prefecture consisted of modern-day Taichung City, Changhua County and Nantou County. It is also the origin of the name "Taichung" in Taichung City and Taichung County.
