Tampico Beverages is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of juice concentrates, carbonated drinks, iced tea and gelatin. Selling under the TAMPICO brand name, it is a leading juice drink brand in the United States and in more than 55 countries around the globe, outselling many well-known beverage brands. Tampico Beverages is wholly owned by Houchens Industries, Inc, since 2008.[1] Houchens Industries is a diversified conglomerate that employs over 16,000 employee-owners in businesses, such as retail grocery and convenience stores, quick-to-service restaurants, insurance, manufacturing, software, recycling, tanning supply distribution, franchising of optical stores, financial services, and property management.
History
Founded in 1989, Tampico Beverages began with just one flavor: Citrus Punch. By the early 1990s, they had secured their first international licensee in Mexico. The company continued to add flavors and work with licensees to add new package sizes and formats, and, by May 2002, had become the number one selling brand of juice drinks in the U.S. Tampico now provides concentrate to licensees in over 50 countries, including Indonesia.[3]
