Tanel Kurbas (born May 8, 1988) is an Estonian professional basketball player who currently plays for basketball club Tartu Ülikool/Rock. He plays small forward position. His junior years were spent playing for Tiit Soku Korvpallikool and his coach was the 1988 Soul Olympic champion Tiit Sokk. He won several national youth championships with his team. Kurbas started his professional career in 2005 when he signed with Noortekoondis/Audentes. After playing for a year there he played with Dalkia Nybit in 2006–2007. Kurbas also finished 2nd in Estonian Slam Dunk Contest in 2007. With the Triobet Dalkia team he played 2007–2008 season. Currently Kurbas is playing with Estonian top team TÜ/Rock.
