Tanisha Demour is a Malaysian model, television presenter, Actress and beauty pageant titleholder from Kuala Lumpur.
Early life and education
Tanisha was born in Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia to Sikh Punjabi parents. She is the only child. During highschool, she was in the Science Arts Stream. She completed her high school at the age of 18 by obtaining straight A's in all her subjects. She was once a bullied victim at her high school and had bitter childhood memories especially with her friends. Since young her dream was to be in the Modelling industry as well as Acting. She never had much moral support from her schoolmates and teachers. Currently she is a Mass Communication degree student under full scholarship at Limkokwing University of Creative Technology.
Career
Tanisha started modeling at the age of 17, during her high school days. She has done many runway events and photoshoots for brands including L'Oréal, Metrojaya, Guess, Parkson, Mouawad, Petronas and has walked the Runway in Singapore, China and UK. She also did commercial advertisements for the telecommunication company Maxis in Malaysia.[2]
Pageantry and initial work
In 2013, she competed at Miss Malaysia World contest, the preliminary for Miss World in Malaysia and was crowned 2nd Runner up at the grand finale of the pageant held on August 2, 2013 in Jalan Ampang, Malaysia . She also won the special award, "Miss Elegance".[3] Tanisha was the brand ambassador for Chipao and Lexus in the year 2013.[1][2][4]
In 2014, she represented Malaysia at Miss Teen International 2014 pageant held on June 7, 2014 at Orchid Country Club in Singapore and was crowned the eventual winner. She also won the gold medal in Self Introduction sub-competition.[5] Later in 2014, she was crowned Miss International Tourism Malaysia 2014 but did not represent Malaysia at Miss International Tourism 2014 as the pageant was cancelled.[2]
In 2014, she judged the Mister Planet Malaysia and Miss and Mr Borneo 2014. The same year she became the brand ambassador of Zopo Mobile, L'Oréal Professionnel and TOMS.[1][2]
In 2015, she competed at Miss Global International Malaysia and was crowned 2nd Runner Up, receiving the title, Miss Supranational Malaysia 2015 during the grand finale in Sarawak, Malaysia.[6]
Miss Model of the World 2015
In 2015, she represented Malaysia at Miss Model of the World contest and was crowned 4th Runner Up at the grand finale of the contest held on October 31, 2015 at Window of the World in Shenzen, China. This recorded Malaysia's highest placement at the pageant till date. She also won the "Best National Costume" special award at the contest.[7][8][9][10][11]
Miss Supranational 2015
Later in 2015, she represented Malaysia at Miss Supranational 2015 held on December 4, 2015 at Mosir Hall (Hall of Sports) in Krynica-Zdrój, Poland and placed in the Top 10. This recorded Malaysia's highest placement at the pageant to date. She also got placed in the Top 3 of Best National Costume sub-competition and Top 10 in Best Body sub-competition at the pageant. There were 82 contestants participated in Miss Supranational 2015.[1][6][12][13][14][15]
