The Florida crowned snake (Tantilla relicta) is a species of colubrid snake native only to Florida.
Geographic range
It is found in central peninsular Florida.[1]
Description
It is a small species with a maximum recorded total length of 24 cm (9.5 in).[2]
It has a light body color and darker head.
Subspecies
Three subspecies are recognized, including the nominotypical subspecies.
- Tantilla relicta neilli Telford, 1966
- Tantilla relicta pamlica Telford, 1966
- Tantilla relicta relicta Telford, 1966[3]
