Tanzhou (in modern Liaoning)

Tanzhou or Tan Prefecture (潭州) was a zhou (prefecture) in imperial China centering on modern Harqin Left Wing Mongolian Autonomous County, Liaoning, China. It was created some time between 1012 and 1021 during the Liao dynasty, and survived until 1143 during the Jin dynasty.
