Tejeda is a village and a municipality in the mountainous central part of the island of Gran Canaria in the Province of Las Palmas in the Canary Islands. Its population is 2,028 (2013),[2] and the area is 103.3 km2 (39.9 sq mi).[1] The highest point of the island Gran Canaria, Pico de las Nieves - 1,949 m (6,394 ft) is located in the municipality of Tejeda. The town Tejeda is situated 6 km (4 mi) northwest of the Pico de las Nieves and 23 km (14 mi) southwest of the island capital Las Palmas. Another remarkable summit in the municipality is Roque Nublo 813 m (2,667 ft).
