The Chronicles of Israfel is a Canadian progressive, experimental metal band from Montreal, and the title of the debut solo album of Dominic Cifarelli, the former guitar player for Pulse Ultra.

It is based on a fictional story written by Cifarelli, during a very uncertain and difficult period in his music career which eventually led to the breakup of Pulse Ultra. It was influenced by the viewing of violent Japanese anime movies.

It was released in July 2007 after 3 years of writing and recording. The first part "Starborn, Tome I", follows Israfel, the main character, in his search for a new home and the self-discovery of his superior inner design.

Starborn was released in March 2007 through Bridge of Hands Entertainment, an independent arts label dedicated to the development and the distribution of original art not limited to music. It was expected to be the first of three albums to be released, along with older brother/band member Vincent Cifarelli's debut ambient record "Dream Method".

Since the release of Starborn, Dom has become bass player for Scars on Broadway (as of June 2008). In March 2014, the first single, "Life I Know" was released with the second album, "A Trillion Lights" confirmed for later in the year.
