The Heritage School, Kolkata in West Bengal, India, is a day-boarding school following the ICSE/ISC syllabuses. The school launched an International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) in 2012 and IGCSE in 2013. It is an initiative of the Kalyan Bharti Trust.
The school offers English education from nursery up to higher secondary level. There is also an educational enterprise known as Suryakiran which is for underprivileged children.
The school has taken part in competitions such as the Frank Antony Memorial All India Interschool Debate, the Bournvita Quiz Contest, Maggi Quiz and other inter-school competition. The school has an Interact Club, and takes part in developmental schemes such as the Duke of Edinburgh Award (also called the Award Scheme for Young People). It has a two-tiered prefect body, including an elected Students' Council (a forum of two elected representatives from each section).[2] The school is also known for the students it sends abroad every year, particularly spiking with the introduction of the IBDP program, with students going to universities in the UK such as the University of Edinburgh, London School of Economics, and universities in the US such as Tufts, Carnegie Mellon, University of California, University of Chicago, University of Buffalo, as well as universities Canada such as McGill.

Some scenes of the Bengali movie Paanch Adhyay were shot at the school. Seema Sapru, the principal was given the role of a principal in it.
Houses
The four houses are:
- Aryabhatt, blue, Indian mathematician;
- Chanakya, green, Chandragupta Maurya's advisor;
- Dronacharya, red, the guru of the Pandavas;
- Patanjali, yellow, the father of yoga.
The houses compete each year for the sports trophy, academic excellence trophy, co-curricular achievement trophy and the cock-house trophy. Throughout the year, many inter-house events take place, such as the Science quiz, Know Your School quiz, General Knowledge quiz, Elocution, sporting events such as football, cricket and basketball along with archery, rock climbing, and rifle shooting. The swimming gala is also a major event. The largest event is the year end athletics meet, known as Annual Sports Day.
Every house has a House Captain and a Mentor from class 12, who are assisted by a Vice Captain appointed from class 11. Every house also has a House Master and House Mistress who are appointed from among the teachers. They, along with the house teachers, guide each house.
Prefectorial Body
The Prefects' Council is made up of the School Captain, House Captains, Grievance Cell Captains, Games Captain for Boys and Girls and the general prefects. While the School Captains, who are from class 12, are elected by the students from a list of nominees decided by faculty, the prefects of the school are selected by the faculty and the House staff, primarily from among the students of class 12 and also class 11. The Prefects' Council also consists of Assistant prefects from the lower classes.
The Students' Council comprises the President, Vice President, Speaker and a democratically elected body of student representatives. Two members, a boy and a girl, are elected from each section of each class from VII to XII. Three members of the faculty are appointed as advisers to the Students' Council.
Campus
The campus includes a football field, cricket field, volleyball field, rock climbing area, archery, rifle shooting range, swimming pool, basketball and tennis courts, roller skating court, sand park and a gymnasium. The building has an auditorium and an audio-visual room. The campus also has two dining halls and one cafeteria. Ankuran and Ankur gets served by one dining hall. Aarohan, Utkarsh by one and the Heritage Institute of Technology and The Heritage Academy gets served by the cafeteria.
The Heritage School has six buildings:

- Ankur (Class 1 to Class 3)
- Aarohan (Class 4 to Class 7)
- Utkarsh (Class 8 to Class 12)
- Abhivyakti (Activity Block)
Yoga is compulsory up to class IX. The school prayer is "Atma Deepa Bhava".

Sports
The outdoor games program offers cricket, football, athletics, tennis, basketball, volleyball, swimming, rock climbing, rifle shooting, archery and roller skating. Indoor games include table tennis, badminton and multigym.[4]
The Heritage has a regulation size football (soccer) field, a 200-metre track, tennis courts, basketball courts, a swimming pool and a multigym. The juniors have a recreation park which has equipment like swings, jungle gyms, see-saws, slides, rockers and sandpits.[5]
Events
The school has events like Abhivyakti which is a celebration for classes 2 to 5 and is celebrated every two years. There is also a carnival known as Kolahaal for students. It is held every 2 years on 26 January.
The school has its annual celebration, Youthopia, which is a celebration for all the students of the school from class 9 onwards and has been held every year since 2010. The 2014 edition was attended by Pentagram ft.Vishal Dadlani and DJ Clement. The 2015 edition witnessed performances by DJ ZAEDEN and famous bollwood music composer duo, Sachin-Jigar.
The School has also hosted The Heritage School Model United Nations, which was held for the first time in 2014 and was a tremendous success. The 2015 edition was attended by top schools from across the country.This event has left its own legacy as the school is making headlines in the Kolkata MUN circles.
The school also hosts an inter-school debate competition annually which is attended by the premier schools of Kolkata.
Youthopia
Youthopia came into being in 2010, as the culmination of the effort made by students of The Heritage School,who wanted to create a platform for interaction and exchange of ideas among their peers studying in other schools of the city. The word "Youthopia" is an amalgamation of the words: "Youth" and "utopia".
