Grand Junction High School is a public high school located in Grand Junction, Colorado. It is part of the Mesa County Valley School District 51. It is one of four high schools located within the Grand Valley.

As of 2006, the student-teacher ratio is approximately 19:1.[1]

The Orange and Black

Grand Junction High School's student-run newspaper is the Orange and Black, a monthly color tabloid published 79 times a year. The paper is consistently regarded as one of the best student-run, high-school newspapers in the nation, having won several awards from the Columbia Scholastic Press Association and the Colorado High School Press Association. In November 2007 it was awarded a Pacemaker by the National Scholastic Press Association.

Choir

Grand Junction High School's choir department has been the recipient of a composition by Eric Barnum, entitled 'Wrapped'. The piece premiered at the Colorado West Music Festival in April 2012. In February 2012, the men's choir made national news for the choice of an Islamic piece entitled Zikr. The program offers seven choral groups, including two show choirs. Approximately four concerts are held each year, with additional concerts during the holiday season for the 'Holiday Extravaganza'.

Knowledge Bowl

Grand Junction's Knowledge Bowl team holds the distinction of being 5A and overall winner in nearly every Colorado State Knowledge Bowl Meet.[2]
