"The Thing I Like" is an R&B/New jack swing song recorded in 1993 by American singer Aaliyah. It was released on the soundtrack for the action-comedy film A Low Down Dirty Shame (1994) and the international version of Aaliyah's debut studio album Age Ain't Nothing but a Number (1994). It was released as the album's fifth single in Europe in 1995. Written and produced by R. Kelly, the song features a rap verse from himself. Its lyrics are about a girl's love for a man because of the one "thing she likes" about him.
