Timo Werner (born 6 March 1996) is a German footballer who plays as a forward for VfB Stuttgart.
Club career
Werner made his debut for VfB Stuttgart on 1 August 2013 in the 2013–14 UEFA Europa League qualifying phase against PFC Botev Plovdiv.[1] Werner was 17 years, four months and 25 days old, becoming the youngest player to ever play in an official match for the Bundesliga team of VfB Stuttgart.[2]
He made his first Bundesliga appearance on 17 August 2013 against Bayer Leverkusen. On 22 September 2013 he scored his first Bundesliga goal for VfB Stuttgart against Eintracht Frankfurt. On 10th of November Werner added a brace to his tally as his side beat SC Freiburg 3–1 Werner netting the 2–0 and the 3–1, thereby becoming the youngest player in Bundesliga history to score two goals in one game.[3]
On his 18th birthday Werner signed a professional contract until June 2018 with VfB Stuttgart.[4]
