Toano is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Reggio Emilia in the Italian region Emilia-Romagna, located about 60 kilometres (37 mi) west of Bologna and about 35 kilometres (22 mi) south of Reggio Emilia. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 4,443 and an area of 67.5 square kilometres (26.1 sq mi).[1]
