Tulsipur is a town and municipality in Dang District in the Rapti Zone of south-western Nepal. It is second largest municipality after Ghorahi. The 2011 Nepal census counted 51,537 persons in 12,214 households. Tulsipur Airport is about two km South of the town center. Paved roads go north into Salyan District, south to the Mahendra Highway in Deukhuri Valley and east to Ghorahi.

Before the unification of Nepal, both were in a small kingdom ruled by the House of Tulsipur that belonged to far western Nepal's Baise Rajya confederation.

Media

To promote local culture Tulsipur has currently four FM radio stations. Radio Prakriti 93.4 MHz which is the first environment friendly community radio station, Radio Hamro Pahuncha - 89 MHz Which is a Community radio Station, Radio Tulsipur - 100.2 MHz which is a private radio station and Radio Sanjhibani-91.0. In addition there are also two local TV station STV and STN channels which broadcasts local events and news. Along with these, many daily and weekly local newspapers have been publishing. Some newspapers which are publishing from Tulsipur are Gorakshya daily, Rapti Aawaj daily, Tharkot weekly, etc.

Education

The facilities of education is good as it is zonal headquarter of Rapti zone. And so students from the himalayan and hilly region of Mid Western Development Region also come here to study.Rapti Babai Multiple Campus is providing educational facilities up to Master's Degree. Novex International College has been providing qualitative education in Bachelor's Degree in Education and Business Studies. Private schools and colleges like Gorkha Higher Secondary School, Shanti Deep English School, Tulsi Boarding Higher Secondary School, Rapti Vidya Mandir, Himal Academy and many other are the facilitators of education here. Some of the private schools and colleges provide the facilities of hostel for students from far away.

Transportation

The major source of transportation here are buses and jeeps. Now electric auto rikshaw are running as local transportation from buspark to xenon chowk.

Health

In Tulsipur there is zonal level hospital.
