Tywęzy [tɨˈvɛ̃zɨ] (German: Tiefensee) is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Dzierzgoń, within Sztum County, Pomeranian Voivodeship, in northern Poland.[1] It lies approximately 7 kilometres (4 mi) south-west of Dzierzgoń, 18 km (11 mi) east of Sztum, and 70 km (43 mi) south-east of the regional capital Gdańsk.
Before 1772 the area was part of Kingdom of Poland, 1772-1945 Prussia and Germany. For the history of the region, see History of Pomerania.
