Notes

  1. 1 2 3 C.Busuttil played in 4 (i.e. not 2) matches. Sometimes in the match Malta - Iceland on 5.06.82 Alan Zammit is given instead of him, and in the match Rep. of Ireland - Malta on 16.11.83 Frank (Francis) Grima is given instead of him. Both they are being given wrongly as both were goalkeepers (as indicated above) and not field players (and they did not replace John Bonello as a goalkeeper - so they did not play in these qualifiers; while probably each was on the bench in the respective match). C.Busuttil played for sure in two aforementioned matches - see e.g. list of all his matches for the national team on http://www.rsssf.com/miscellaneous/busuttil-intl.html.
