The 1960 United States presidential election was held on November 8, 1960. Democratic candidate John F. Kennedy won the state of Texas with 50.52% of the vote, giving him 24 electoral votes.[1]
Nixon lost the state of Texas again in 1968, although he did win the Presidency. In 1972, he sought re-election and won Texas with 66% of the vote.
