Veli Pasha

Not to be confused with Veli Mehmed Pasha.

Veli Pasha (fl. 1806) was the son of Ali Pasha, the Ottoman pasha of the westernmost part of Rumelia, called Pashalik of Yanina. In 1806, following renewed conflict between the Ottomans and Russians, Veli Pasha was sent to attack the Septinsular Republic.[1] Veli Pasha seized Vonitsa, Preveza and Butrint.[1] Ali Pasha married Veli Pasha to his neighbour Ibrahim Pasha's daughter.[2] Veli Pasha was sent to suppress the Serbian rebels in the sanjak of Smederevo (First Serbian Uprising).
