Viceroy of Min-Zhe
The Viceroy of Min-Zhe (Viceroy of Min-Che; Chinese: 閩浙总督), fully referred to in Chinese as the Governor-general of the Taiwan, Fujian and Zhejiang Provinces and Surrounding Areas Overseeing Military Affairs and Food Production, Manager of Waterways, Director of Civil Affairs (Chinese: 總督台灣福建浙江等處地方,提督軍務、糧餉、管理河道兼巡撫事), was one of eight viceroys of the Qing dynasty in China. The Viceroy had jurisdiction over the provinces of Fujian, Taiwan and Zhejiang. Fujian and Taiwan were once the combined province of Fujian (abbreviated as Min (Chinese: 閩) in Chinese). Chinese historians hold the view that: "Quanzhou was the most important port in China before the rise of Shanghai in mid-19th century, so arresting pirates was main task of the Viceroy of Min-Zhe".
