Visioneer

Visioneer, Inc. is a privately owned company based in Pleasanton, California. Visioneer is a developer of a way to capture documents and photographs and integrate them with popular Microsoft Windows and document imaging applications."[1]

Founded in 1994, Visioneer introduced the first easy to use sheetfed scanner called the PaperMax.[2]

Visioneer's proprietary software application known as PaperPort was spun off and sold in 1998. The hardware side of the business was sold to Primax Electronics, but later bought back by a private investor.

August 2003, Visioneer announced an exclusive licensing agreement with Xerox to develop and market Xerox-branded document scanners and digital projectors under the Xerox DocuMate brand name.[3]
