The album has sold over eight million copies, worldwide.[3][4] That number includes 2.1 million copies sold in Europe, 1 million in Asia, 883,000 copies in the United States, and 204,000 copies in Japan.[5][6]
In the United States, Vuelve spent twenty-six non-consecutive weeks at number one on the Billboard's Top Latin Albums and peaked at number forty on the Billboard 200. The album was certified Platinum by the RIAA. The title track, "Vuelve" reached number one for two weeks on the Hot Latin Songs. Later, also "Perdido Sin Tí" topped this chart for one week. "La Copa de la Vida" peaked at number two. Three other songs also charted one the Hot Latin Songs: "Corazonado" (number twenty), "La Bomba" (number twenty-seven) and "Por Arriba, Por Abajo" (number thirty-three).
"La Copa de la Vida" ("The Cup of Life") became the official song of the 1998 FIFA World Cup and topped the charts in many countries around the world. It became Martin's second international hit, after "María". Thanks to the success of "La Copa de la Vida", the album charted high on the charts around the world, including number one in Spain and Norway, number two in Australia and Sweden, number three in Hungary, number four in Switzerland, and number seven in Finland.
Vuelve was certified Multi-platinum, Platinum and Gold in many countries, including IFPI Platinum award, after selling one million copies in Europe. In Spain, it was certified 6× Platinum.
"La Bomba" was released as the second international single, peaking at number five in Spain. "Por Arriba, Por Abajo" was the third single, reaching number thirteen in Spain.
