Wądół [ˈvɔnduu̯] (German: Wilhelmsfreude) is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Lipiany, within Pyrzyce County, West Pomeranian Voivodeship, in north-western Poland.[1] It lies approximately 2 kilometres (1 mi) north of Lipiany, 15 km (9 mi) south-east of Pyrzyce, and 52 km (32 mi) south-east of the regional capital Szczecin.
Before 1945 the area belonged to Germany as part of Landkreis Soldin in the Prussian Province of Brandenburg. After World War II the region was placed under Polish administration and ethnically cleansed according to the post-war Potsdam Agreement. The native German populace was expelled and replaced with Poles. For the history of the region, see Neumark.
