WURB was a planned commercial radio station in Cross City, Florida, broadcasting to the Gainesville, Florida area on 97.7 FM. The station was owned by Urban One Broadcasting Network and would have broadcast a Urban Adult Contemporary format targeting 34-to-65-year-olds.
Originally scheduled to begin broadcasting December 1, 2013,[1] the station's launch was delayed until a date yet to be announced. In early 2014, the station filed an application with the FCC to relocate the station to Fort White and downgrade to a Class A signal at 6,000 watts, in order to better serve Gainesville; that application expired in July 2014.[2] The proposed station's construction permit has expired.[3]
