The Wanda-Zhonghe-Shulin Line (萬大-中和-樹林線) is a medium capacity, rapid transit line on the Taipei Metro currently approved and beginning construction. The Taipei City Government Department of Rapid Transit Systems estimates construction to take eight years.[1] In keeping with the Taipei Metro's color coding scheme, the Wanda-Zhonghe-Shulin Line will be light green, with stations abbreviated as "LGXX" ("XX" being the station number). When Phase I is completed, the Wanda-Zhonghe Shulin Line is expected to carry 270,000 riders per day, and passengers will be able to travel between the terminus at Zhonghe Senior High School Station and Taipei Main Station in 25 minutes.[2]
Phase I
This medium-capacity route was approved by the Executive Yuan on February 12, 2010.[3] It is split into two phases. Phase I consists of nine underground stations and a depot in Jincheng Road. The 9.5 km long line (Phase I) will connect to the Xindian Line and Xiaonanmen Line at Chiang Kai-Shek Memorial Hall Station (LG01), one of its termini. Also, this line goes under the Xindian River between LG04 and LG05.[4] Jincheng Road (LG08) is where the other terminus is located, and may be named as Zhonghe Senior High School Station.[5] A branch line, possibly called the Juguang or Depot Branch Line, consists of only Zhonghe Senior High School and Juguang Station.
Phase II
Phase II is still in the planning process. Its termini are located at Huilong Station (LG21) and somewhere near Jincheng Lide Intersection, which is possibly Qingshui Station (LG09).[6] From LG01 to LG10, the track is underground. But LG11 to LG21 runs aboveground.[7]
