Willard Brook State Forest is a Massachusetts state park located in the towns of Ashby and Townsend about 50 miles (80 km) from Boston. The forest's fast running brook and tree stands of a classic New England nature give it a character more in line with that of the forests found in the western parts of the state.[3] The park is managed by the Department of Conservation and Recreation.
Activities and amenities
- Trails: Forest trails are available for hiking, horseback riding, mountain biking, cross-country skiing, and snowmobiling. The fairly challenging Friends Trail connects the campground to the one at Pearl Hill State Park. The full trail takes up to three hours to complete and hikers should be in good physical condition.
- Camping: The property has 19 campsites and one yurt at Damon Pond. Campground office hours are 9 am – 10 pm. The regular camping season is from late May to early September.[3]
- Picnicking, swimming, fishing, and restricted hunting are also available.
