Winnie "Nakanwagi" Nwagi is a Ugandan musical artiste signed to Swangz Avenue; she came to fame with her hit single Musawo which hit both radio and Television airwaves. She was the Second runner up in the second season of CocaCola Rated Next in 2014.[1] She shared stage with Uganda's oldest and best band Afrigo Band in a live performance at Guvnor dubbed Friday Night Live in April 2016[2][3]
Music career
Winnie founded her music career when she became the second runner up during the second season of CocaCola Rated Next music competitions in 2014. She was immediately signed by Swangz Avenue and released a number of songs including Embeera, Katono Katono, Gwenoonya and Kyowulila.[4] Her big break, however came when she released her hit single Musawo early 2016.[5] Musawo hit the airwaves both on radio and television[6] and attracted attention from Ugandan diva Irene Ntale when she did an acoustic version of the song.[7]
