Without Witness (Russian: Без свидетелей, translit. Bez svideteley) is a 1983 Soviet drama film directed by Nikita Mikhalkov. It won the Prix FIPRESCI at the 13th Moscow International Film Festival.[1]
Plot
The film is completely put in a chamber style - throughout the film characters do not leave the apartment. The names of the main characters is unknown.
Coming one day to his former wife, he finds out that she is going to marry his old friend, a great scientist, to whom he once wrote an anonymous letter.
Out of fear of exposure, he demands that she changed her mind. Its main asset becomes son Dima, who does not know that she was not a native, his mother. For the sake of love and tranquility son she was forced to sacrifice personal happiness.
