Production

In May 2015, it was revealed that Todd Haynes would direct the film adaptation Wonderstruck, based upon the novel of the same name by Brian Selznick, who also wrote the screenplay. Christine Vachon would produce under her Killer Films banner.[1][2] In November 2015, Julianne Moore had been cast in the film, with Pam Koffler and John Sloss joining as producers.[3] In April 2016, Jaden Michael, Cory Michael Smith, Michelle Williams, Oakes Fegley, and Amy Hargreaves joined the cast of the film.[4][5][6][7] That same month, deaf actress Millicent Simmonds was cast in the film, with her section of the film being presented as a silent film.[8]

Filming

Principal photography began on May 4, 2016.[9][10][11] In April 2016, a casting call was sent out for men and women to film a scene as businessmen.[12]

Release

In December 2015, Amazon Studios announced they would produce and distribute the film.[13] FilmNation Entertainment is handling international sales on the film.[14]
